SABS aims to provide a resource for biophysics in Africa, to help talented scientists from the continent create stronger networks and collaborations within Africa and with the rest of the world. Its vision is to be a distinguished continental professional society in the advancement of professionalism, deontological ethics, research, education, innovation and industry in biophysics and allied disciplines as a means for impelling Africa to the first world. Its mission is to promote and actualise industrialisation through multifaceted biophysics research output based policies, mentorship, international collaborations, quality education, and high quality biophysicists. The organization has several objectives towards the vision and mission.
